The SECRETS anthology released last month, April 21, but it got to debut at BookCon prior to release. It was a hit, selling 13 copies (all I could print in time for the event). If you aren’t aware of the SECRETS anthology, it’s a collection of short stories by 14 different authors, including myself, and the proceeds go to an author grant program I am running with Indie Author Connect (IAX) to help newer authors get their stories through the publication process and ready to publish. I always want to help and encourage new writers, and now, thanks to the anthology, I have a more effective tool to help them where most authors feel the pain: financially.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

I have a book publishing later this year — SURPRISE! However, it will only be available at in-person events to start. I will be having an audiobook produced of it as well.

It isn’t book 2 in the Children of Arcanum Series. Sorry.

But it is a collection of short stories I’ve written at the start of my writing career including a more recent one that IS related to the ARMITAGE world. So let’s talk about it.

First, the collection will sample a variety of genres: Fantasy, Sci-fi Horror, Psychological Thriller, Steampunk, LitRPG, Rom-Com, Sci-fi Drama, Mythopoeic Fantasy. So there’s something for everyone to enjoy! All of the stories will focus on the character’s emotional journey, which is what you’ve come to expect from my writing so far.

I will be including The Dragon Mist in this collection as the first story. It will be the first story. The last story in the collection will be the other story in the world of Idromir and is titled THE CITY OF STONE AND LIGHT.

It will follow Draya, who finds herself being chased by the dragon mist, when she encounters a mysterious wanderer carrying an axe etched with glowing blue runes that shields him from the mist. Draya follows the wanderer, and over the next few decades, builds a community with him as this enigmatic presence protecting them.

I don’t want to spoil much, so the description is vague for now, but I’m incredibly proud of this story and believe it brings exciting new lore into the world of Idromir and how parts of it came to be. Like, The Dragon Mist, it will not spoil Armitage, nor will you have to read Armitage to enjoy this. It is written in a way that it can be enjoyed by a younger audience (13+).

I will follow back with more updates on the progression of this collection. But I plan to debut it in August at my few in person events!
